Lagos 2023:Projects Done By Sanwo-Olu Are Four Times The Benchmark Of World Bank-Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour

The gubernatorial candidate of the Labour Party in Lagos state, Mr. Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, has indicted the Lagos state governor, Mr Babajide Sanwoolu of executing projects four times the benchmark of the World Bank.

Rhodes-Vivour made this claim when he featured on Channels Television current affairs program, Politics Today, monitored in Lagos on Monday.

He chided the Lagos state government of being opaque in their dealings with the people, adding that the state lacks transparency and accountability.

He, however, promised to restore transparency and accountability as a social contract with the people in order to serve them better.

Speaking further, Rhodes Vivour said there’s flooding in Isheri and around the state despite the fact that there was budgetary allocations to dredge the rivers in order to forestall the hardship the floods will have on the people.

He said; “ It is not good to only celebrate what you are making from the taxation. You must also ensure that there’s transparency and accountability in how you use the funds. There’s no accountability in the dealings of Lagos state government as regards projects.Projects are done in Lagos state four times the benchmark of the world bank. If you follow due process, what is being spent on one bridge can give us four. We cannot continue with that.”
