Buhari’s Severance Package Is N10m; Some Heads Of Parastatals Take N500m As Severance Package-RMAFC Boss
Chairman of Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission , Mohammed Shehu, has revealed that the severance package of President Mohammed Buhari is a paltry N10 million.
Speaking on a current affairs program, Sunrise Daily monitored in Lagos on Thursday, Shehu maintains that the severance package of the president of Nigeria is too poor and must be reviewed.
He also revealed that the monthly salary of Mr President is N1.2m, adding that the CBN governor, the executive vice chairman of NCC, NPA MD and other parastatals earn more than Mr President.
Speaking further, Shehu said that there are about 17 different salary structures in Nigeria.
According to him, while the entry salary of a graduate in the ministry of information is N50,000, the CBN graduate earned N350,000 and NIMASA, NCC and other parastatals earn more.
Shehu, who explained that his commission is reviewing the salary of judges and that of Mr. President, governors and other public officials to meet up with the current realities says the problem with Nigeria is not debt, but revenue.
He, however, revealed that about N6 trillions have not been remitted by some agencies of the federal government.
It will be recalled that some state houses of assembly have passed bills, given humongous severance package and pensions to the former governors many of who later won election to the senate.
