Emeka Offor’s Retinue Of Police/Escort: IGP Reacts To Activist Petition

The Inspector General of Police, Alkali Baba, has reacted to open display of show of force by a non state actor, Sir Emeka Offor, whose retinue of police and army aides were seen in a video that went viral recently.

The IGP in an acknowledgment by the Secretary, Force Public Relations Officer, AA Tana, an Assistant Superintendent of Police, ASP, said the information has been received and will be escalated appropriately.

Adeola Samuel Ilori, executive director, Police advocacy for better welfare initiative, has sent a petition about Emeka Offor’s retinue of police aides amidst the inadequacy of personnel to provide security for Nigerians to the office of the IGP with the video where he was boasting of his connections in high places.

Adeola in the petition said; “ We at police advocacy for better welfare initiative watched this video and it was appalling to see an individual citizen with such security.

“We implore the Inspector general of police to withdraw immediately the police men attached to the man in the video allegedly named Emeka Offor with immediate effect failure to which we will approach the court of competent jurisdiction  for an order of mandamus to so do by the IG.”
