APC, PDP, LP, Others Meet In Lagos, Sign Peace Accord At DPG’s Summit
Eight political parties unanimously agreed to toe the part of peace yesterday at the peace accord organised by the Directorate of Politics and Governance of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria in Lagos.
The summit which held under a conviviality was well attended by representatives of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Peoples Democratic Party, Labour Party, New Nigeria Peoples Party, National Rescue Movement, African Democratic Party, African Action Congress and African Democratic Congress.
The peace accord clearly states that; “ We , as political candidates in 2023 elections hereby promise to ensure and promote peace and peace conduct among our political and partisan followers/members to the best of our abilities. We promise to avoid hate speech, inciting words and languages in our utterances and writings”
All the political parties present at the summit agreed to abide by the peace accord as clearly stated and demonstrated it by embracing each others as they append their signature with camaraderie.
The host, Bishop Dr. Theophilus Ajose who is the State Director of DPG, Lagos State and Zonal Deputy Director of DPG (South West, Nigeria) expressed satisfaction for the success of the summit and the promise extracted from the party candidates to maintain and ensure peace at the elections.

Explaining further, Ajose said the essence of the peace accord was for politicians to eschew violence and embrace peace, adding that there won’t be any development anywhere there’s tension.
The chairman of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Apostle Enyinnaya Okwuonu, enjoined the politicians to embrace each other, adding that the election will produce winners and losers.
Okwuonu said whoever wins should be magnanimous in victory, while those who didn’t make it should accept their fate or seek redress if not satisfied with the process instead of resorting to self help.
To Bishop Stephen Ogedengbe, one of the guest speakers, the antidote to peaceful co-existence is to talk to your enemies so that you can resolve your differences.
Apostle Titi Oluwadare during the opening charge urged everyone to pray for Nigeria as the country goes to a crucial poll in nine days.
She said there’s serious contention by the kingdom of darkness against Nigeria.
