Chairman of Labour Party in Lagos state, Pastor Dayo Ekong, has declared that the resident electoral commissioner in the state , Mr Segun Agbaje has been compromised by the ruling All Progressives Congress to rig the election in its favour.
Speaking at a press conference in Lagos on Sunday, Ekong, maintains that she’s not afraid to accuse Agbaje of bias against the Labour Party, adding that it was obvious going by what happened in the state yesterday.
She further stated that all complaints of Labour Party yesterday about the flagrant manipulation of the election in favour of the APC was not attended to.
“ We call their lines, they will feigned ignorance. Lagosians will not sit back and allow APC working in cahoots with INEC to manipulate and subvert the wishes of the masses who trooped out yesterday to vote for the Labour Party.” She added.
Speaking earlier, Labour Party gubernatorial candidate in Lagos state, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, said; “ what happened in Lagos yesterday was not a credible election and we will not accept it. “Any attempt to undermine the wish of Nigerian youth will blow up the country. “We are calling on President Muhammadu Buhari and the international community to prevail of Lagos resident electoral commissioner and the ruling party to announce the genuine results, not the one they concocted after the election.”
Rhodes-Vivour said it beggar belief that the House of Representatives and the senatorial results were uploaded while the INEC officials refused to upload the presidential results on the pretext that the BVAS was not working.
He said in some areas were they were prevailed to do so, surprisingly, the BVAS worked.
Rhodes- Vivour said Labour Party will not sit back and allow the fraudulent practices of INEC and unscrupulous politicians in the state during the March 11, 2023 gubernatorial election.
He, however, saluted the resilience of Lagosians who defied the sunshine to wait on the queue from 8.00am till 11.00pm in some polling units yesterday, adding that the Party will ensure that their votes will count.
