Gov’ship Election: Kebbi Police Assures Of Safety

Following the postponement of the Governorship and State Houses of Assembly Election to this week Saturday, Kebbi State Police Command last weekend held a crucial meeting with Political stakeholders and heads of Security operatives in the State towards a hitch-free elections.

Addressing the meeting, the Commissioner of Police in the State, Ahmed Magaji Kotangora stated that the aim of the meeting was to review the conduct of the electorate during the last Presidential and National Assembly elections and map out how to conduct another hitch-free governorship and houses of Assembly election.

The Police boss pointed out that the meeting was not to accuse anybody, Institutions or individual but to interact and brainstorm on how to facilitate peaceful, hitch-free, trasnparent and acceptable elections come Saturday election across the State. While appreciating residents of Kebbi for coming out to exercise their franchise in an orderly manner in the last election, the Police boss appealed to them to sustain the tempo by supporting and cooperate with the security agencies to enable them discharge their statutory duties diligently.

He urged parents and political stakeholders to caution their sons, daughters and party loyalists against thuggery, misconduct and anything that may lead to breach of peace before, during and after the elections.

The Police Commissioner promised people of the state of hid Command readiness and other Security agents in the State to provide adequate security on that day.

He used the forum to appealed to Journalists to uphold the ethnic of their profession while discharging their statutory responsibility and urging them to shunned all forms of sensational stories in their reportage.
