Kebbi Gov’ship Election: PDP’s Bande Vows To Challenge Results At The Tribunal

The  Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in the March 16th 2023 election, Major-Gen. Aminu Bande (retd), has vowed to pursued the outcome of the election results through legitimate means at the Election Petition Tribunal to Challenge his defeat at the last Saturday Supplementary election in the State.

Bande who lost the election through a narrow margins of 48,315 out of the 800,560 total votes cast, however appealed to his numerous followers and party members to remain calm and violent free as the party takes the matter to the Election petition Tribunal sitting in Birnin-Kebbi.

“As God in his infinite mercy has made it possible to seek redress in a court of law, election has been conducted, winner has emerged, PDP will pursue the outcome of the Election to the logical conclusions. Votes not bought with money, bags of rice, fertilizer or clothing materials like the other party who claimed to have won the election, everything possible will be employed to see justice is done.” He added.

He equally called on the State government to in the name of almighty Allah release the salaries of those Civil servants whose salaries were stopped because of their perceived sympathy to the PDP, adding that Salah celebration is at hand, ‘these workers need money for their family upkeeps, the government should have the fear of Allah and do the needful’.

The PDP governorship candidate also chided the state government for deposing traditional rulers because they were perceived to be supporting the PDP, saying this action of government is primitive and awkward. Advising therefore that government should stop persecuting the people because of their alienation with PDP. 

General Bande also called on the government of governor Atiku Bagudu to order the release of those arrested and detained in the various prisons across the State during campaigns, reiterating that campaign is over and election is also over, ‘the detained PDP faithfuls should be released and reunited with their love ones.’ He said.
