Bagudu Inaugurates 20-Man Transition, Handover C’ttee

Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi state has inaugurated a twenty-man transition committee to be chaired by the State Secretary to the Government (SSG) Babale Umar Yauri, to prepare ground for hand over to the incoming administration by May 29th, 2023.
The list of committee members are as follows: Babale Umar Yauri,(SSG) Alhaji Safiyanu Garba Bena, (Ag.HOS), Malam Dahiru Zaki, Permanent Secretary Cabinet and Political Affairs, Barr Abubakar Zaki Lonzon, Solicitor General and Permanent Secretary Ministry of Justice, Hajiya Aishatu M. Usman, Permanent Secretary Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, Alhaji Abubakar Garba Dutsin Mari, Permanent Secretary Ministry of Finance.
Others include; Mr. Joel Aiki, Permanent Secretary Ministry of Agriculture, Alhaji Faruk B. Rufai, State Auditor General, Arch. Saadu M. Sakaba, Ag. Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works and Transport, Abdulmumin Abdullahi, Ag. Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Higher Education, Hussaini Abdullahi Zuru, Chief Registrar, State High Court and Suleiman Shamaki, Ag. Clerk, Kebbi State House of Assembly.Those nominated by the Governor -elect are; Alhaji Abubakar Gari Malam, Alhaji Yakubu Tafida, Alhaji Abubakar Muhammad Chika, Alhaji Shehu Mu’azu, Barrister Haruna Yakubu and Dr Usman Sani Tunga, (Rector Waziri Umaru Federal Polytechnic, Birnin Kebbi), while Muhammed Sani Umar Yeldu, permanent Secretary , Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs will serve as the Secretary of the committee.
Also to serve in the committee also are, Ag. Clerk to the State House of Assembly, as well as the representatives of the Commissioner of Police and the State Director, Department of State Services, (DSS).
Alhaji Yauri explained that two major functions would be performed by the transition council on collating, submission of inventory on assets and liabilities including staff strength for the incoming government, adding that the committee has also been saddled with the responsibility of organising a smooth hand over ceremony.
Governor Bagudu in his speech said he felt honoured to inaugurate the committee to spearhead collation and doing all works required to prepare the new Governor with materials for take-off, pointing out that the Committee would identify areas of priorities of campaign promises made by the Governor-elect, describing the process of transition as highly important and requested members of the committee to swing into action immediately.
