Tribunal Adjourns Na’ Allah’s Case To May 2

The Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Kebbi state has on Thursday adjourned further hearing on a petition brought before it by Senator Bala Ibin Na’ Allah of the APC against Garba Musa of the PDP to 2nd of May, 2023. 

Na’ Allah’s petition is challenging the election victory of Garba Musa  in the last concluded Kebbi South Senatorial Election  which the PDP candidate won.

While arguing the matter, Counsel to the petitioner, Barrister Habib Muhammad Bello told the court that the matter was slated for Thursday for pre-hearing of the petition but lamented that the petitioners were not served with pre-hearing questions.

“There was no sufficient service, that is why we humbly moved an application for adjournment to enable all parties in this matter be served.”he said.

In their own separate responses, counsel to first defendant Barrister Mustapha I. Abubakar, Second defendant counsel Barrister Williams Ataghoba and counsel to the third defendant Barrister Hussaini Zakariya SAN, all conceded to the application moved by the petitioners counsel seeking for adjournment.

Honourable Justice Margret Opara Chairman of the Tribunal and her colleagues after hearing from all the parties, adjourned the matter to 2nd May for continuation of hearing.

The Tribunal however, reminded all parties that the election petition has a limited time therefore we should be  mindful of time.

“We are here for you and to hear and determine all the petition before us within the time frame prescribed by law, so long adjournment of casea would not be tolerated.” She told all the parties.
