Hon Nnolim Attacking Me Because I Turned Down His Request For 5% Equity In Nigeria Air-Sirika

A former minister of Avaiation, Senator Hadi Sirika has described the statement credited to the former chairman of House Committee on Aviation, Hon Nnolim Nnaji that the launch of Nigeria Air was a fraud as an afterthought because he turned down his request for 5% equity shares in Nigeria Air.

Sirika, who spoke on Arise News current affairs programme, Thisday Life monitored on Sunday in Lagos, said he was surprised that Hon Nnoli described the Nigeria Air launch as a fraud.

He, however, challenged whoever that’s interested in knowing the details of the launch to use the freedom of information act, adding that nothing is hidden about the Nigeria Air.

According to him, the Federal Government has only 5% equity and if it doesn’t continue, other shareholders will continue.

On the procurement of N12billion fire fighters equipment few days before his exit, Sirika said it became necessary because the loyola jesuits students who died in Sosoliso air crash would have survived if there was fire fighter equipment on ground after the crash.

He said; ” I am not surprised that Hon Nnoli described the Nigeria Air launch as a fraud. He has been on the committee since 2016, that means he hasn’t been doing his oversight work as it should. Besides, he asked for 5% equity for himself as his people, but I told him to bid that it’s beyond me. All the information about the launch is there for people. It’s not true that everything was shrouded in secrecy.”
