NDE Unveils Agric Scheme In Kebbi

The National Director of Employment (NDE) has organised a five day training for fifty people selected across the 21 Local Government Areas of Kebbi State under its Sustainable Agricultural Development Scheme (SADTS).

Addressing the participants, the Director General of NDE, Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo urged them to adhered strictly to be whatever instruction their trainers would give them, adding that their trainers were carefully selected to impact them with knowledge on modern agricultural practices.

Alhaji Fikpo represented by the State Coordinator of the Directorate, Mr. Francis Ambianto Amos also charged participants to see their participation in the Training as a rare privilege to have been selected to participate among others youths and women in the State.

He expressed that agriculture alone can give employment to millions of people, pointing out that NDE don’t like redundancy, therefore youths in the State should change their attitudes towards self employment.

The Director General noted that no aspect of agriculture that is not a money generating venture, he, therefore, enjoined them to pay greater attention to their Trainers, nothing that certificates would be given to them to show that they participated and more so, the certificate qualify them to seek loan from any financial institutions.

A participant, Hajia Umaima Bello Dabai said this is an opportunity she has been waiting for, as she hope to utilize the experience she may have acquired to set up agricultural venture together with her family.
