Africans Rising has called for solidarity with people of Sudan over the intractable crisis in the country.

The group has earmarked December 2nd as #SudanSolidarityDay to bring international attention to the situation in Northeast Africa country.

It appealed to the conscience of Africans all over the world to stand in solidarity with Sudan, following the recently launched Pan-African Solidarity humanitarian initiative for Sudan aimed to rally and mobilise resources and other humanitarian assistance to support and prevent any further loss of life and indignity from this war to those in-country and refugee camps in the neighbouring countries.

Since the fight between the two military formations broke out on April 15 this year, it has immeasurably exacerbated a pre-existing humanitarian crisis and now turned “catastrophic”.

“As this war continues, the number of refugees are likely to increase and the majority of those who continue to bear the brunt are the vulnerable groups that include children, girls, women, persons with disabilities among others.”

The statement added: “Where is our ubuntu as Africans? “ encapsulated the spirit of solidarity with Sudan.

The programme which is physical and online across the globe, encourages all to spread the word by sharing a picture online with the hashtags #StopSudanWar, #IamTheSudanRevolution, and #SudanDay., while adding for impact from people by creating a 10-second video to raise awareness.
