Ahmadu Bello University Writes Police, Confirms Dankaka’s Certificate; Says Previous Letter To FCID Was Fake

Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria has written to the police at the Force Headquarters to confirm the Masters in Business Administration (MBA) presented by the Chairman of the Federal Character Commission (FCC), Dr Muheebah Dankaka.

The University also disowned the previous letter dated Thursday, 21 December, 2023, written to the Police that said the Certificate presented by the FCC Chairman did not emanate from it.

A letter dated Tuesday, 16 January, 2024, addressed to the Commissioner of Police at the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID), Area 10, Abuja with the attention of Deputy Commissioner of Police Tahir Usman described the earlier letter as fake because it did not emanate from the approving authorities of the ABU.

In the letter sighted by this medium, which was signed by Rabiu Samaila, Registrar of the University, the institution confirmed that the certificate bearing the name, ‘Muiba Nike Salau’ emanated from the University.

As proof of confirmation, the ABU Registrar stated that his letter to the police has attached to it, the following documents to authenticate Dankaka’s Certificate as demanded by the police:

(1) the University’s Senate approval of Higher Degree course

(2) Letter of Admission for the course and certificate presented

(3) Evidence of Final registration for Post-graduate studies

(4) Final Semester Examination result slip and transcript

(5) the Master in Business Administration certificate

The Registrar stated that the previous letter dated Thursday, 21 December, 2023, was issued without going though approved process of external communication, hence is null and void.

The Registrar even went on to apologize to Dr Dankaka for the embarrassment caused by the fake letter.

Investigation conducted by this medium revealed that some disgruntled Commissioners in the FCC who are not happy with the progress the Commission is making under Dankaka’s leadership had allegedly connived with a junior officer in the ABU administrative department, bribed the officer to write the fake letter.

This medium learnt that the said officer without the necessary approval wrote the fake letter and sent it to the police.

The bubble burst on the disgruntled Commissioners and their collaborators when the University highest authorities: the Vice Chancellor, Deputy Vice Chancellors, the Registrar and the Bursar discovered the anomalies.

The University had apologized to the FCC Chairman.

Investigation by this medium revealed that the recalcitrant officer has been arrested and handed over to the police for investigation and prosecution.

“It’s the highest level of desperado by these disgruntled Commissioners, causing a fake letter to be issued to discredit a woman doing a marvelous job.

“Thank God, the University has debunked and disowned this fake letter. They can’t win because the woman is serving with sincerity of purpose to decimate job-racketeering in the Commission while at the same time bringing in improvement for all,” a senior member of staff told this medium on Wednesday, 17 January, 2024.
