Our Club Should Be Listed On Lagos Stock Exchange – Omisore

A former two term legislator representing Ifako Ijaiye state consituency in the Lagos state house of assembly, Hon Ahmed Ipoola Omisore, has urged Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to ensure that Social Reformers Club is listed on the Lagos Stock Exchange.

Omisore who made this call at the end of the year get together and the induction ceremony of new members of the Club, said it will enable members to contribute more to the THEME + Agenda of Mr. Governor.

Social Reformers Club of Nigeria,a Lagos based socio- cultural group of professionals and technocrats was founded 45 years ago in the Agege area of Lagos State.

In his welcome address, the President of the Club, Chief Akanni Faloto,who many members referred to as New Sheriff in town due to the developmental strides the Club has achieved under his leadership was excited about the development.

Faloto expressed his appreciation to the trustees of the club,members and his executive for their support during his tenure as The President of the prestigious Club,adding that “without you people I couldn’t have achieved so much in the history of our dear club”

He said that during his tenure, he made accountability and disciplined his watchword, expressing his delight on how members paid their dues and pledges promptly.

He explained that, he ensure that the idea that club is a leveller is strongly upheld in the club so that irrespective of your status in the society, once you step into the club all are equal.

Faloto said that this brought oneness, love, and peace among members.

Faloto equally mentioned the revival of Wives Asun night, which usually brings members’ wives together in a reunion.

He said Members’ birthdays were also celebrated while others supported the celebrant to demonstrate love among members.

Faloto said further that the welfare of the club members was very paramount under his leadership.

He listed several projects done by his administration which are gigantic in the history of the 45years old club, though he agreed that his regime met some projects on ground,urging the incoming administration to build on the existing projects so as to take the club to the greater heights.

Faloto did not forget to mention the membership drive during his tenure.

He told the gathering that a lot of competent professionals and technocrats joined the club as members.

He advised members to elect a new executive who can improve on the achievement made by his regime while, thanking the five experienced trustees who are supervisory authority of the club.

The new year party and induction of the new members was chaired by Alhaji Samisdeen Akanni Sule,a real estate guru, who could not hide his excitement for making him chairman of the occasion.

He,however, prayed for the growth of the Social Reformers Club of Nigeria.

Three member of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s cabinet were in attendance.

They include Olayinka Adekunle,S.A. on Works, commissioner of establishment and training, and Commissioner for special duties Mr.Gbenga Oyerinde.

They all spoke glowingly of Social Reformers Club of Nigeria.

Those in attendance were Engr. J.O. Adegbamiye, Barrister Dele Ajikanju,Hon. Ahmed Ipoola Omisore, The Royal Father, Oba Yekini Azeez, Vice President of the Club, Mr. Wasiu Adegbite, Chief Bayo Bamigbopa, Barrister Dele Babalola, a legal luminary,Adedayo Omotuyi, indomitable Secretary of the Club, Baale Omololu Pedro,Barrister Rotimi Alade and wife,Dr.Dayo Folorunso.

Others were Arch. Taiwo Komolafe, a prominent Lagos based surveyor and Taiwo David Olaniyi, HRH Azeez Bolaru, Chief Ayo Randle and immediate Past President of Ikeja Club.

The new inductees include an educationist, Omoniyi Olowe, Yusuf Abiodun and among others.

Truly, the occasion testify to their ‘motto,’ which says, ‘Truly, We Shall Never Be Tired.’
