South Korea Boosts Nigeria’s NIN Registration, Donates 222 Enrollment Devices To NIMC

South Korea has supported Nigeria’s government in its plan to get to get all its citizens registered and profile as she donated 222 National Identification Number (NIN) Android Enrollment devicesto the National Identity Management Commission [NIMC].
The donations presented in Abuja to the Commission by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) on behalf on Korean government.
According to a statement on Wednesday by the eGovt Programme Manager, KOICA Nigeria Office, Mr. Kayode Adebisi, the assistance is part of a broader project funded by the Korean government, with the goal of advancing Digital Governance in Nigeria.
He noted that the project is currently being carried out in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy.
The Country Director of KOICA Nigeria Office, Mr. Sungil Son, was said to have during the event, emphasized the importance of NIN in facilitating government digital services.
He expressed the South Korean government’s pleasure in contributing to strengthening the foundational base for government digital service delivery through NIMC.
Son expressed confidence that the donated devices would enhance NIMC’s capacity to extend NIN enrollment to underserved populations nationwide, thereby increasing access to NIN registration for Nigerian citizens.
In response his response, the Director General of NIMC, Engr Abisoye Coker-Odusote, expressed gratitude for KOICA’s support during the presentation of the new enrollment devices.
She highlighted the significant impact the devices would make at the NIMC state office and thanked KOICA for their timely assistance.
The highlight of the event was the official signing and exchange of handover certificates, along with the symbolic presentation of the devices to the NIMC Director General.
