NCPC Will Work On Peaceful Resolution Of Crisis In Jerusalem- Bishop Adegbite

The National Christian Pilgrims Commission (NCPC) says it prioritizes supporting all efforts to bring lasting peace to Jerusalem and Nigeria.

The Lagos State Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Bishop Steven Adegbite, stated this when he assumed office as the new Executive Secretary of the National Christian Pilgrims Commission (NCPC) in Abuja.

Bishop Adegbite said the first duty of the commission under his tenure would be to pray for the peace of Jerusalem, which remains crucial to Christian pilgrimage and cannot be excluded.

He disclosed that he was at Bethlehem with 360 pilgrims when the war started in October and said he was optimistic that there would soon be calm and the gates of Jerusalem would soon be open for pilgrimage.

The Executive Secretary, who is also a member of the Nigeria Inter-Religious Council, said he would use his new office to champion peace and religious tolerance in the nation.

On his part, a board member of the commission for the North-Central, Simon Dolly, assured the Executive Secretary of the board’s support to achieve the mandate of the commission.

On January 10, President Bola Tinubu appointed a new board and management team for the National Christian Pilgrims Commission, with Aloche Adole as Chairman and Bishop Stephen Adegbite as Executive Secretary.
