Ondo 2024:Betty Akeredolu, Late Husband’s Niece Fight Dirty Over Aiyedatiwa

Days after the burial of her husband, Betty, widow of former Governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN), has ‘delved’ into politics of the Sunshine State.

The governorship primary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) holds in April.

Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, Akeredolu’s deputy, who was sworn in on December 27, last year following the governor’s death in Germany, has joined the governorship race.

One of Akeredolu’s nieces, Funke Akeredolu Aruna, is backing Aiyedatiwa for the Number One seat in the South-West State in the next election in November.

But, Betty will have none of that as she attacked Funke for supporting Aiyedatiwa, calling her ‘a bloody serpent’.

In a post on her Instagram page on Monday morning, Betty described her as shameless, adding that time will tell if she is “truly lucky”.

The late governor’s wife wrote: “Behold the face of Aketi’s niece, Funke Akeredolu Aruna, the former deputy chief protocol to Aketi, shamelessly parades as ‘I am lucky’. Bloody serpent! Time will tell if she is truly lucky!”
