Poverty Alleviation:N-HYPPADEC Empowers 1,000 Graduates In Kebbi

The National-Hydro-Electric Power Producing Areas Development Commission (N-HYPPADEC) has commenced the Empowerment of no fewer than 1000 graduates of Kebbi State origin through the distribution of start-up kits to in the state capital.
Governor Nasiru Idris represented by the Kebbi State Head of Civil Service, Malami Muhammad Shekare praised N-HYPPADEC for its dedication to youth empowerment, describing the programme as a beacon of hope for the state’s unemployed youths, as he reaffirmed Government commitment to collaborating with agencies to create opportunities for young people.
The Managing Director of N-HYPPADEC, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq Yelwa, highlighted the significance of the programme in combating unemployment and fostering economic growth.
“In this challenging economic period, this initiative demonstrates the Federal Government’s commitment under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to creating sustainable opportunities for our youths.”
He revealed that the programme trained 1,011 youths in Digital Economy, Fashion and Beauty Industry, Agriculture and Food Services, Technical and Construction Trades, stressing that monitoring mechanism had been activayef place to ensure beneficiaries use the provided materials for the intended purpose.
In a goodwill message, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr. George Akume, represented by Alhaji Aliyu Suleiman Mashegu, applauded N-HYPPADEC for its impactful youth empowerment programmes, noting similar successes in Plateau, Kogi, and Kwara states.
He assured that the Federal Government would continue addressing youth empowerment through agencies like NDE, SMEDAN, and ITF.
Musa Ibrahim and Halima Sani who were amongst the beneficiaries said the programme and the equipment had opened a new progressive way of life for them and their relations, saying the gesture would defiantly usher in a new chapter in their lifes.
