A former Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nazir el-Rufai, has accused the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu and his successor, Uba Sani of working to destroy his reputation ahead of his 2031 presidential ambition.
El-Rufai, who spoke in an exclusive interview monitored on Arise News on Monday in Lagos said his estranged friend Ribadu is planning to destroy anyone on the radar from the North ahead of 2031 when he would contest the presidential election.
He, however, described his alleged siphoning of 423 billion when he was a Governor as a ruse.
He said: ” Nuhu Ribadu and Uba Sani used to be my friends, but they are no longer my friends. Ribadu is working with Uba Sani to tarnish my hard earned reputation because of his 2031 presidential ambition. He wants to destroy all the northerners on the radar that may contest against him then. I expect my friends to be there for me, “he added.
On the probe instituted by the Kaduna State House of Assembly against his administration, El-Rufai said the investigation was meant to nail him.
” For instance, you were investigating my administration, you didn’t give me fair hearing. I was not invited. Even the figure of 423 billion they claimed I siphon, how did they arrive at that, ” he queried.
El-Rufai, who said the ruling All Progressives Congress has derailed from its own plans, maintained that he would join another political party if things remain the same towards 2027.
He, however,ruled out the possibility of joining the Peoples Democratic Party, adding that the Party is getting worse.
