Breaking: Our Legislators Band Of ‘Legislooters’-Bakare
The serving overseer of Citadel Global Community Church, CGCC, Pastor Tunde Bakare, has lambasted the Godswill Akpabio led Senate as a band of ‘legislooters’.
Speaking on the state of the nation address monitored in Lagos on Sunday, Bakare said unlike the previous assembly, the National Assembly has become a ‘carry go’ and bunch of spineless people.
Bakare, who said though they may come after him after the address, he’s not afraid.
He was particularly piqued how the ethics and privileges committee of the Senate handled the sexual harassment allegations between the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio and Senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.
According to him, Nigeria is ‘a nation in need of resurrection. Can Nigeria live? In the face of utter hopelessness. Hunger, pain, shame. Need for truth to be broadcast to the nation.
” Let the people know the truth and the country be safe.” He added.
The Fiery Preacher who was unsparing admonished President Bola Tinubu to harken to the voice of reason, adding that his address is meant to guide not condemn.
Bakare, however said prayer alone cannot solve the myraids problem beseiging her, but pragmatic steps should be taken.
He, however, counseled that the purpose of his address was not to condemn but to guide.
He also maintained that he’s not oblivious of the progress made under President Bola Tinubu since he took over.
Bakare said he was impressed by the improvement in the GDP which has improved over time in the last 23 months.
He said; “Therefore, this timely counsel. A worthy season …Mr President: borrow a leaf from Pharaoh in the time of Joseph. Pharaoh enlisted the counsel of Joseph after he interpreted his dreams correctly to safe the Egyptians from the impeding famine. May the president have hearing ears to hear the counsel of the people.”
