Olubadan’s Demise: Royal Drummers Relocate To Ladoja’s Bodija’s Residence

As the people of Ibadan and Nigeria await the official announcement of the passing of 43rd Olubadan, Oba (Dr) Akinloye Owolabi Olakulehin, who joined his ancestors early this morning, Royal drummers and large crowd have besieged the Bodija residence of Olubadan-in-Waiting, Oba Rasheed Adewolu Ladoja.

The number 23 Ondo Street Bodija, the official home of Oba Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja, has now become a beehive of activities.

Indigenes in large numbers have comverged there to catch a glimpse of the new Oba.

Meanwhile, no activity is ongoing at his ancestral home in the heart of the city at Isale- Osi area of Ibadan South East LG.

Being a Christian, the burial of Oba Olakulehin can not be immediate.

According to an impeccable source familiar with the process “It has to go through the Anglican Communion procedural process.

“The late Oba was a staunch member of St. PETERS AREMO ARCHDEACONDRY. The church has not been officially briefed. Olubadan in council, too, has not officially met to deliberate on the passage,” the source told newsnowonline.com.ng
