1X CUP 2025:Africano FC Defeat Team 360 2-0, Hits Group Stage

Debutants Africano FC left no one in doubt of their strong desires to make a name for themselves in this year’s edition of the prestigious 1X Cup.Playing their second ever game of the tournament, they went into the game determined and dominating play.

 Their dominance eventually paid off as they got the opener through Daniel Onyeka who converted a spot kick to end the half 1-0 in favour of Africano FC.

The second half started with Team 360 becoming more physical and committing fouls. Undaunted, Africano FC continued its fluid and attacking game and got the second and consolidation goal through Damilola Mathew, who slotted coolly into net from a fast counterattack play.

It was just enough to take Africano FC to the group stage on their debut appearance. 

Speaking to journalists after the match, midfield maestro and captain of the team, Gabriel Ogunji, expressed his joy on the team’s qualification to the group stage of the money-spinning tournament. Even as he enthused confidently that the team are bent on doing very well and moving forward to the diadem stage.

Also speaking on the qualification of the team, club president Rev. Samuel Ikpea, congratulated his boys on the feats, so far, achieved in the highly rated tournament.

Earlier in the tournament, Africano FC had defeated Great Olympic 5-1 in their debut game.
