Group Accuses Akure Based Lawyer Emodamori Of Harassment, Destabilization Of Ondo State Government

Lagos — The Centre for Legal Advocacy for Citizens’ Rights (CLACR) has launched a blistering attack on Akure-based lawyer, Mr. Femi Emmanuel Emodamori, accusing him of waging a sponsored campaign of harassment and destabilization against officials of the Ondo State Government.

In a strongly worded statement signed by its Executive Director, Ewonowo Gbenga, CLACR said it was “gravely concerned” by what it described as Emodamori’s “renewed antics” following his recent legal action against the State Commissioner for Finance and the Ondo State House of Assembly.

The suit reportedly challenges details of statutory allocations to local governments and asset declarations of commissioners appointed by Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa.

According to CLACR, the lawyer’s actions are less about public accountability and more about “financial motivation” from politically exposed persons intent on destabilizing the state.

“Mr. Emodamori has consistently constituted himself into a diversionary agent of destabilization in Ondo State. His legal theatrics are not altruistic but driven by frustration and political bitterness,” the group alleged.

The advocacy centre further questioned Emodamori’s credibility, noting that he had not shown similar zeal in challenging previous administrations in Ondo State or even in his native Kogi State.

Instead, CLACR claimed, he benefited from “unmerited patronage” such as land allocations and legal briefs during past governments.

The group went further to describe the lawyer as “a meddlesome interloper” and “a serial destabilizer,” insisting that his “endless lawsuits” have become a weapon to intimidate government institutions rather than a genuine pursuit of justice.

“His latest antics of assuming the roles of the Code of Conduct Bureau and the State House of Assembly is nothing short of rascality dressed up as civic duty,” the statement read.

CLACR also accused Emodamori of being a lawbreaker himself, alleging that he had violated state laws by erecting structures beyond approved limits.

“He cannot and must not be allowed to parade as a poster boy for accountability in Ondo State,” the group declared.

While acknowledging that the 1999 Constitution (as amended) provides for citizens’ rights to seek legal redress, CLACR warned that the abuse of such rights amounted to political grandstanding that could undermine democracy.

The organisation urged the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) and other legal regulatory bodies to investigate the ethics and consistency of Emodamori’s actions.

“If unchecked, his pattern of frivolous litigation will not only discredit the noble profession of law but also weaponize such rascality against legitimate governance,” CLACR said.

The organisation concluded by urging the people of Ondo State to remain vigilant against “democratic subversion,” insisting that governance under Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa must be allowed to proceed without constant harassment.
