Security Expert Accuses Gov Radda Of Paying Bandit Leaders N10m Each To Perform Hajj …Allegation Baseless- Katsina Govt

A security advocate, Dr. Bashir Kurfi, has revealed that the Katsina State Government paid about N10 million for each bandit leader sent to Saudi Arabia for Hajj.

Speaking on a Trust TV podcast, Kurfi said some notorious bandit leaders maintained contact with government officials and were even involved in meetings and negotiations despite being linked to violent attacks.

He named Audu Lankai as one of the major bandit leaders known to authorities and stated that many bandits are well-known in their communities, with their identities and family backgrounds known to residents.

Kurfi also said several bandit leaders were seen in Saudi Arabia during the pilgrimage, raising concerns over how individuals accused of killings and kidnappings were able to travel freely.

Reacting to the allegation the state Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Nasir Mu’azu, stated there was no evidence to back such claim.

Mu’azu said the claims allegedly made by Bashir Kurfi during a programme aired on Trust TV, accusing the state government of sponsoring bandits to Hajj ‘is baseless.’

According to him, “it’s politically motivated to tarnish the image of the Katsina State Government.”
