Ajiran Murder: ABU Alumni Backs AIG Jimoh
…Says Truth Will Prevail
The Executive Committee of the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Political Science/International Studies of class 97′ has expressed solidarity with the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 2, Onikan, Lagos, Mr Jimoh Moshood over the current investigation on the Ajiran murder.
The group in a letter issued by Alhaji Umar Magaji and Aminu Aliyu, President and Secretary General respectively of the association expressed its unwavering support in the midst of narratives and various reports on the ongoing Ajiran murder investigation, adding that AIG Jimoh would be vindicated by the court.

The group also explained that it’s aware that senior law enforcement officers are often required to undertake difficult and sensitive assignments in the discharge of their constitutional responsibilities.
The statement read; “On behalf of the Executive Committee and the entire members of the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Political Science/International Studies (PS/IS) Class of ’97, we write to express our solidarity and unwavering support to you amidst the various reports and narratives currently circulating on social media concerning the ongoing Ajiran murder investigation.
“As responsible citizens who believe in the rule of law, we recognise that senior law enforcement officers are often required to undertake difficult and sensitive assignments in the discharge of their constitutional responsibilities.
“We equally believe that every allegation against a public official should be examined through lawful investigation and judicial processes, guided by credible evidence rather than public sentiment or social media narratives.
“While the matter remains before the courts, we consider it appropriate to reaffirm our confidence in the principles of due process, fairness and the presumption of innocence guaranteed under the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. We are confident that the truth will ultimately emerge through the judicial process.
“We, therefore, encourage you to remain resolute, professional, and steadfast in the discharge of your duties. We trust that your commitment to justice, integrity, and the rule of law will continue to inspire confidence in the Nigeria Police Force and the Nigerian public.”
