MSSN Lagos Commends Ex-JAMB Registrar, Prof Is-haq Oloyede’s Exemplary Leadership

…Recommends sustained use of robust monitoring systems to improve transparency

The Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria (MSSN), Lagos State Area Unit has commended Prof. Ishaq Olarewaju Oloyede for his impactful tenure as the Registrar/Chief Executive Officer of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

The Amir, Dr. Ajibola Yusuf Salami acknowledged the former JAMB Registrar’s exemplary service and dedication which significantly advanced educational assessment and strengthened the integrity of Nigeria’s admissions system.

His unwavering commitment to ensuring a fair and transparent examination process has empowered countless students to achieve their academic dreams. The initiatives introduced have not only streamlined operations but enhanced the integrity of the system.

MSSNLagos acknowledges the numerous achievements as well as reforms introduced by Professor Oloyede as JAMB registrar from 2016 to 2026.

Under his stewardship, JAMB achieved remarkable milestones, including:

• A 30% reduction in the cost of UTME application forms.

• introduction of the Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS), making admission into tertiary institutions more transparent.

• Sponsorship of candidates with special needs and their guides to examination centres.

• Commitment of over ₦8 billion to retirement savings.

• introduction of “13th month” salary bonuses and an increase in examination duty incentives from 10% to 20%, among others.

With a focus on continuity and improved examination processes, MSSNLagos emphasised the need for the new Registrar, Prof. Segun Aina, to prioritise transparency and integrity.

MSSNLagos encourages the implementation of robust monitoring systems that enhance examination integrity through the use of technology for real-time monitoring and reporting.
