Ex-Finance Minister, Kemi Adeosun, Loses Husband
LAGOS, Nigeria — Mr. Anthony Adeniyi (Niyi) Adeosun, the husband of Nigeria’s former Minister of Finance, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun, has passed away at the age of 62.

According to the official announcement, the prominent businessman passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, in Lagos.
The family described the late Mr. Adeosun as a distinguished entrepreneur and a devoted Christian whose life was defined by hard work, corporate integrity, generosity, and steadfast faith.
He was widely recognized as a pillar within his community and a man who maintained an unwavering commitment to his faith and family.
Beyond his marriage to Mrs. Kemi Adeosun, who steered Nigeria’s Ministry of Finance from 2015 to 2018, the deceased belonged to a highly accomplished corporate lineage.
He is survived by his wife, his cherished children, and his siblings, including Mr. Adewale (Wale) Adeosun, the prominent Founder and CEO of Kuramo Capital, along with a host of other family members, friends, and business associates.
In the statement, Reverend C. A. Adeosun noted that while their hearts are heavy, the family takes comfort in the assurance of God’s Word regarding those who die in the Lord .
The household has requested privacy during this difficult period of intense grief as they mourn their irreplaceable loss.
The family added that specific details regarding the funeral and Christian burial arrangements are currently being finalized and will be communicated to the public in due course.
