Pelumi Olajengbesi Esq. is someone I have never met physically, but I have watched and read how he handled this election season. He kept the pressure on his opponents while maintaining a respectful tone toward Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR. I believe that was a smart political move. I sincerely wish him success in his House of Representatives ambition. He displayed competence. I still wonder how GOV ADEMOLA ADELEKE identified and chose him as campaign spokesperson. That was a brilliant move.

GOV ADEMOLA ADELEKE is someone I have spoken with once on the phone while I was in Dubai hosting Dele Momodu, who often refers to him as his twin. Many people underestimate him because of his dancing, humility and easygoing personality. He constantly reminds me that people who appear simple can also be deeply strategic. When a sitting Governor faces intense pressure and still maintains calm, that is power under control. In my village we say, “When your hand has not touched the cutlass, you don’t ask what killed your father.” His humility and connection with the people clearly matter.

Davido — hmm! Every family needs a Davido. Someone who does not have to step in, but chooses to. Someone who may have little to gain personally, yet puts his voice, influence and reputation on the line for family. His global reach is powerful leverage. Some of his moves during this election were politically very smart.

My final appeal is to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR and Seyi Tinubu: Nigerians do not necessarily hate you or your government. People do not want to feel bullied. They want to feel that leaders care, listen and are ready to serve. A second term is possible, but some things need to change quickly. Governors, senators and political loyalists alone cannot win an election without genuinely connecting with the people.

I am giving this government another two months before I make up my mind.

Congratulations to the people of Osun State. This is how democracy reminds politicians that power ultimately belongs to God and the people. My appreciation also goes to the Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi that prayer and subtle endorsement was huge.
