Historic Second Term Looming: Governor Oyebanji Resumes Work With 4-Hour Tour Of Key Ekiti Project Sites
ADO-EKITI – Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, on Monday officially resumed his executive duties following the conclusion of his two-week annual leave, hitting the ground running with an extensive four-hour inspection tour of major infrastructure projects across the state.
The hands-on tour saw the Governor engaging directly with contractors and officials from supervising Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) at various sites. The exercise is part of the administration’s intensified efforts to ensure top-tier quality delivery and strict compliance with project timelines.
Among the critical installations evaluated during the intensive tour were:
The newly acquired Ground Handling Equipment at the Ekiti Agro-Allied Airport.
The ongoing construction of the Aviation Fuel Dump within the airport premises.
The ultra-modern 80-bed medical facility at the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital (EKSUTH).
The reconstruction of the Adekunle Fajuyi Memorial Park in Ado-Ekiti.
The new Ekiti State High Court Complex in Ado-Ekiti.
Expressing his satisfaction with the pace and quality of the ongoing work, Governor Oyebanji reiterated his administration’s unwavering commitment to completing these projects on schedule. He also hinted at the upcoming flag-off of new infrastructural initiatives, aligning with his administration’s “Shared Prosperity” agenda.
According to a statement by his Special Adviser on Media, Olayinka Oyebode, the Governor’s direct, multi-level supervision strategy reflects his core governance philosophy—that excellent project execution is best achieved when routine agency monitoring is paired with direct oversight from the Chief Executive.
The resumption comes at a historic juncture for the state. Governor Oyebanji, who was recently re-elected for a second term in office, is scheduled for inauguration on October 16, 2026. The upcoming ceremony will mark the first time in Ekiti State’s history that a sitting governor is sworn in for two consecutive terms.
