‘I’M COMING TO GOVERN, OTHERS ARE COMING TO RULE!’ — Adebayo Blasts Tinubu, Obi, Atiku; Declares Past Leaders Morally Unfit

ABUJA, NIGERIA — Prince Adewole Adebayo, the presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), has launched a fierce critique against Nigeria’s political establishment, declaring that anyone who has previously held public office lacks the moral authority to seek leadership again.

In a powerful statement issued on Monday by the Adewole Adebayo-Bugaje Presidential Campaign Council, the international lawyer and entrepreneur drew a sharp line between his vision to “govern” through service and his competitors’ ambitions to “rule” over the masses.

Adebayo took direct aim at leading political figures, asserting that opposition candidates like Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar are merely recycling old habits tied to the nation’s historical socioeconomic failures. Turning his attention to the current administration, the SDP candidate labeled the Tinubu presidency a “monumental disaster” and alleged that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) plans to rig the upcoming 2027 election due to a widespread public rejection of its governance.

“Nigerians do not need rulers; they need a governor,” Adebayo stated, emphasizing that past leaders cannot fix the very infrastructure, security, and poverty crises they helped create.

Entering the race with a completely clean political slate, Adebayo highlighted his extensive private-sector background in building businesses and creating wealth from scratch without relying on public funds. He channeled the philosophies of global icons Lee Kuan Yew, Thomas Sankara, and Nelson Mandela, promising a merit-driven, anti-corruption government that prioritizes “safe drinking water for all” over elite comfort.

With the 2027 race intensifying, the SDP campaign announced plans to escalate nationwide awareness drives, urging voters to remain highly vigilant and protect their ballots at the polls.
