Toxic Alcohol Massacre: Adebayo Cries Out Over Ondo Tragedy, Demands Immediate Crackdown On Illicit Distillers!

Prince Adewole Adebayo, the Social Democratic Party (SDP) standard-bearer for the 2027 presidential election, has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic deaths of several residents in Ondo State linked to the consumption of contaminated, unregistered local alcohol.

In a heartfelt statement released on Thursday by the Chief Communications Adviser of the Adewole Adebayo-Bugaje Campaign, Comrade Mark Adebayo, the political leader described the incident as an avoidable tragedy that has brought immense, unbearable pain to the affected communities.

“My heart goes out to the families who have lost their loved ones to this devastating incident,” Adebayo lamented.

“Losing a family member is painful enough. But losing them to something as preventable as unregulated toxic substances is an unbearable tragedy.”

While praying for the full recovery of victims currently hospitalised, Adebayo warned that the deadly incident shines a harsh light on a larger, systemic problem in the country.

He noted that the open market has become a danger zone due to a severe lack of monitoring, and urged both state and federal agencies to intervene immediately.

“We cannot continue to watch our citizens fall victim to unregulated, poisonous products on the open market,” Adebayo stated.

“This incident is a loud wake-up call. We must build and maintain effective regulatory infrastructures. Agencies like NAFDAC and state health task forces need the right tools to track down, seize, and destroy dangerous illicit substances before they reach our people.”

The SDP leader concluded by calling on the Ondo State Government to provide comprehensive, free medical support to all survivors.

He also demanded that law enforcement agencies launch a swift, aggressive investigation to track down the manufacturers and distributors of the toxic brew and bring them to justice.

In the meantime, Adebayo strongly advised members of the public to stay vigilant, completely avoid unbranded or unregistered local alcoholic drinks, and report suspicious illegal production sites to the authorities.
