Adebayo-Bugaje Campaign Celebrates Afenifere Leader Oba Olaitan At 84, Calls For ‘National Reset’

LAGOS — The Adewole Adebayo-Bugaje Presidential Campaign Organization has congratulated the National Leader of the pan-Yoruba socio-political group Afenifere, Oba Oladipo Olaitan, on his 84th birthday, praising his decades of public service and advocacy for democratic ideals.

In an official statement released on Sunday by the campaign’s Head of Media and Communications, Comrade Mark Adebayo, the organization commended the elder statesman’s lifelong dedication to justice, true federalism, and the economic advancement of Nigerians.

The campaign’s presidential candidate, Prince Adewole Adebayo, described the monarch as a steadfast anchor for Nigerian democracy.

He highlighted Oba Olaitan’s extensive political and legal career, including his call to the Nigerian Bar in 1971, his tenure as Political Adviser to the late Lagos State Governor Lateef Jakande, and his role as the Alliance for Democracy (AD) caucus leader in the House of Representatives from 1999 to 2003.

“Oba Oladipo Olaitan represents the finest tradition of Nigerian statesmanship,” the statement read.

“At a time when our nation faces systemic security and economic challenges, his fearless advocacy for the masses, his calls for an urgent national reset, and his unyielding support for progressive political alliances continue to inspire our collective struggle.”

The campaign organization concluded its message with prayers for the monarch’s continued health and wisdom as he continues his service to the Yoruba race and the nation.
