Court Sets October 12 To Rule On Euracare’s Bid To Block Inquest Into Chimamanda’s Son’s Death
The Lagos State High Court has scheduled October 12, 2026, to rule on Euracare Multi-Specialist Hospital’s application to halt a coroner’s inquest into the death of Nkanu Adichie-Esege, the 21-month-old son of author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie and Dr. Ivara Esege.
The hospital contends the inquest is invalid due to the child’s prior cremation and challenges the procedural fairness of the inquiry, while the family and the Lagos State Government maintain the coroner retains full legal authority to proceed.
