Tinubu Commends NiDCOM Boss Abike Dabiri-Erewa On Birthday, Praises Impact On Diaspora Engagement
ABUJA, NIGERIA — President Bola Tinubu has extended his warm congratulations to Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, the Chairman and CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), on the occasion of her birthday.
In an official statement released on Sunday, October 11, 2026, by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu lauded the veteran broadcaster and politician for her unwavering dedication to public service and social justice.

The President highlighted Dabiri-Erewa’s distinguished legislative track record, noting her impactful service in the House of Representatives from 2003 to 2015. During her twelve years representing the Ikorodu Federal Constituency, she effectively chaired the House Committee on Media & Publicity and pioneered leadership as head of the House Committee on Diaspora Affairs.
Reflecting on her professional journey from her early days at the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) to her current role at NiDCOM, President Tinubu commended her unique passion and foresight.
He emphasized that her efforts have been instrumental in bridging the gap between Nigeria and its citizens abroad, specifically in channelling global diaspora talent toward vital national sectors.
“Her patriotic role in attracting Diaspora talents to contribute to the country’s development, particularly in education, health, and sports, is commendable,” President Tinubu stated.
“She has justified the awards and recognition that have come her way.”
