Tinubu Inaugurates 2027 APC Campaign Council, Vows Governance Won’t Suffer Amid Election Push

ABUJA — President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has officially inaugurated the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) ahead of the 2027 presidential election, declaring the party fully united and prepared to renew its mandate with the Nigerian people.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony held at the State House Conference Centre in Abuja, President Tinubu charged council members and party leaders to demonstrate absolute commitment to securing victory, emphasizing that political success is measured by local results.

“I thank all of you for the last election, but no one gets credit for an incomplete assignment until you deliver the next election, until you deliver your electoral wards, until you deliver the votes,” the President told the gathered party stakeholders.

The inauguration featured strong commitments to balancing political mobilization with active governance.

Responding to counsel from the Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum, Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, President Tinubu assured citizens and international observers that the upcoming campaigns would not distract his administration from policy execution, economic responsibilities, and attracting foreign investment.

Vice President Kashim Shettima also addressed the council, praising the President’s democratic credentials while taking sharp aims at opposition figures.

Shettima defended the dignity of the presidency against recent criticisms from Action Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate Atiku Abubakar and dismissed the economic arguments of National Democratic Movement candidate Peter Obi, cautioning against the use of uncontextualized statistics.

As the APC sets its sights on the 2027 polls, President Tinubu called on the campaign council to conduct its activities responsibly and center its messaging on the administration’s ongoing developmental policies under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
