“Ife Lokan, Omisore Lokan”, Obalufe Declares As Ex Deputy Gov Storms Ooni’s Palace; Receives Royal Blessings

As political activities intensify ahead of the 2026 Osun State governorship election, a leading aspirant under the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Iyiola Omisore, on Thursday paid a courtesy visit to the Palace of the Ooni of Ife  and Permanent Chairman, Southern Nigeria Traditional Rulers Council (SNTRC) Arole Oodua Olofin Adimula, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, CFR, Ojaja II.

Ooni’s spokesman, Moses Olafare in a statement signed said Senator Omisore arrived at the Ile Oodua in Ile Ife in the company of prominent politicians, respected dignitaries, youth groups, and women leaders from across Osun State.

His arrival was greeted with traditional songs, royal chants, and the warm presence of monarchs, high chiefs, and cultural custodians of Ife Kingdom.

Addressing the gathering, Senator Omisore expressed deep gratitude to the Ooni and the entire Ile-Ife city for their unwavering support over the years.

He recalled a critical moment in his political journey, expressing how Ile-Ife stood firmly by him even during his time at Agodi Prison.

“Ile-Ife has never failed, not even once. We are united and I remain grateful for the love and strength this land has shown me. When I was at Agodi Prison, Ile-Ife prayed for me for seven days. I was overwhelmed because such solidarity is rare in Yorubaland. Anyone who ignores Ile-Ife has ignored his own progress. We have served people at their greatest moments of need; now is our own time,” Omisore said.

Speaking on behalf of the Ooni, the Obalufe of Ife, Oba Idowu Adediwura, reaffirmed the historic political influence of Ile-Ife in Osun State and declared strong royal support for Senator Omisore.

“Ife lókan, Omisore lókan. Since the creation of Osun State, nobody has become governor without the decisive support of Ife people. This time is ours. On behalf of the Ooni, we pray that you will emerge victorious as the next governor of Osun State,” the Obalufe declared.

He urged the people of Ile-Ife and its environs to unite, work with sincerity, and come out in large numbers during the election to ensure the success of Senator Omisore’s ambition.
