NEDMO Mourns Slain Soldiers In Borno Attack, Urges Tinubu To Apprehend, Prosecute Terrorists, Sponsors
The Convener of the New Direction for Nigeria Movement, NEDMO, Comrade Mark Adebayo, has mourned the gruesome murder of Brig Gen Oseni Braimah and his troops by the jihadists believed to be members of the Islamic State of West Africa Province, ISWAP, in a deadly attack in Benisheikh, Borno State, on Thursday morning.
Comrade Mark in an electronic mail sent to our correspondent urged President Bola Tinubu to apprehend and prosecute the terrorists and their sponsors to serve as a deterrent.
In the statement titled, “WE SALUTE OUR FALLEN HEROES” , Mark stated;
“In the face of another brutal attack on our gallant soldiers in the fierce fight against terrorists and bandits, the New Direction for Nigeria Movement, NEDMO, wishes to commiserate with the Nigerian Armed Forces on the loss of some of our heroic soldiers in Benisheikh, Borno State, yesterday April 9th, 2026 including the Brigade commander, Brigadier General Oseni Braimah.
“In this difficult moment of our nation, we salute the gallantry and sacrifices of our fighting and fallen heroes. Your services and sacrifices are highly appreciated. Even though you’re fighting under extremely challenging assymetric warfare while confronting an unpredictable and destructive enemy that respects no rules of engagement, and paying the supreme price, you have continued to hold out in the service to fatherland.
“We are proud of your patriotism, ruggedness, determination, and gallantry.
“We appeal to the president and commander-in-chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, president Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to kindly expedite action on apprehending and prosecuting the sponsors of terrorism and banditry in the country who we are told that the intelligence and security agencies have their list. Mr. President, you owe it a duty to your oath of office and as the one on whose table the buck stops to get these enemies of our country exposed, arrested, prosecuted and punished in accordance with relevant laws of the land. This will go a long way to impact the non-kinetic phase of this terrible situation.”
Mark, who maintained that “the enemies of our country are working on overdrive to destabilize Nigeria,” added that “We must all come together to support our armed forces anyway we can to defeat this evil that is ravaging our land, disrupting our peace, and driving us towards collective despair.”
