The Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Appropriations, Rep. Muktar Aliyu Betara is one step back in the lower chamber of the National Assembly come 2023 as no one is ready within the All Progressives Congress (APC) to contest the Biu/Bayo/Shani/Kwaya-Kusar Federal Constituency of Borno state with him.

Speaking while picking Betara’s nomination/expression of interest form in Abuja, a former deputy governor of Borno State, Alhaji Adamu Shettima Dibal who led the people of the constituency who contributed money for the purchase of the form, said the lawmakers is ready to be re-elected unopposed.

Betara, has been in the House of Representative since 2003 with his impact felt all over the four local governments that he represents at the lower legislative chamber of the National Assembly.

An endowment was launched to raise money for the purchase of the nomination, where money raised was beyond the fee charged by the ruling party showing the popularity of Betara.

Dibal, speaking to journalists after purchasing the form on behalf of Betara, assured that the lawmaker would not face any hurdle at the poll.

According to the former Deputy Governor, “We want him back because of his history, because of his antecedents. He has done alot for our people. We all contributed money to raise the N10 million to buy the form. He is not even aware that we bought the form for him.

“We will present the form to him at our own local government. Our people want him back. He has done alot in human capital development, road development and several infrastructure back home.

“His support is massive. In fact if the election is held tomorrow, he would sweep the poll. As we speak he has no opposition right now. There is nobody taking the seat from him.”

In his brief remarks, the lawmaker who spoke on phone when he was contacted by our correspondent, expressed his profound gratitude to the delegation and assured them that he would continue to give them good representation at the green chamber.

He urged then to go all out to rally support for the All Progressives Congress, APC, for it to continue its transformation of the country in all facets.”
