Famuyibo Bags FSASON’s Distinguished Leadership Award…Says Award Is Motivation To Do More For The Down-Trodden

For his resilience, doggedness and selflessness in his pursuit of his political ambition to add value to nation building and also liberate the less-privileged members of our society from social deprivation, the governorship candidate of Accord Party in the June 18, 2022 gubernatorial election in Ekiti State, Basorun Reuben Famuyibo, was et the weekend bestowed with a Distinguished Leadership Award by the old students of the Federal School of Arts and Science, Ondo, FSAON.

Basorun Famuyibo, an alumnus of FSASON, was among the very first set of students to be admitted to FSAS, Ondo at establishment.

A trained lawyer of over 42 years, Basorun Famuyibo, popularly known as BRF, is a renowned politician and businessman, who has made his mark, not only on the bar, but also I’m politics and business.

His citation read at the awards ceremony stated, “To achieve his socio-political agenda, he ventured into politics at a very young age in 1993, boldly vying for the highest office in the land – the Presidency if the Federal Republic of Nigeria, with other political bigwigs like late Chief MKO Abiola, under the platform of the defunct Social Democratic Party, SDP.

“During the party’s national convention held in Jos, Plateau State, he emerged 6th out of 20 presidential aspirants on the ballot box.

“Basorun Famuyibo has been in the trenches of political liberation of the masses from his hey days in the University of Ife, now Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.”

Responding after receiving the award, Basorun Famuyibo 3xpressed gratitude to his fellow old students of FSASON for 43cognisin his modest contribution to the emancipation of the down trodden in the society,addi g that the award would only ginger him to continue to do more without resting on his oars.

He added that this was what prompted him to throw his hat into the ring to contest for the governorship of his home state, Ekiti, to put smiles on the faces of the people.
