APC Presidential Primary: Amaechi Defeated Sitting Vice President, President Of Senate, He’s The Hero Of Convention – Eze

Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress and erstwhile National Publicity Secretary of the defunct New People’s Democratic Party, (nPDP), Chief Eze Chukwumeka Eze, has congratulated the National Leader of the party, Sen. Bola Ahmed Tinubu for overcoming every obstacle to clinch the party’s Presidential ticket.

In a statement made available to media houses in Port Harcourt, Chief Eze said the deployment of sophisticated politicking and very clinical tactics and lobbying which alongside other factors played major roles in determining the outcome of the keenly contested exercise, Tinubu has succeeded in sending the message that with determination one can achieve whatever it is before him.

The party Chief highlighted that the very Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, erstwhile Governor of Rivers State, two time Director General of Buhari’s Presidential Campaign Organisation and the immediate past Minister of Transportation, stands to be celebrated across board for refusing to be involved in the corruption of delegates during the convention through financial inducement and yet defeated a sitting Vice President and the President of the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria including the other 20 aspirants that participated in the just concluded Presidential Primaries.

His feats, the challenges, his successes and travails from conspirators and saboteurs some of whom he helped and risked his life raise to stardom, stands him out not only as a courageous leader to watch but a selfless patriot with the true Nigerian spirit.“I therefore plead with him to use this opportunity to review the calibre of friends and associates he keeps and forge ahead as the project of rebuilding Nigeria is still waiting for him to accomplish.

Similarly, Eze hinted that the emergence of Senator Bola Tinubu once again proves the former Lagos Governor’s political sagacity and prowess, adding that his emergence was significantly boosted by his bountiful harvest from investments in humans for the past thirty years or so. “I praise him for withstanding against all odds to prove that he is the master of the game. “Let me commend him for starting on good footing by doing his best to visit the President of the nation, Vice President Yemi Osinbanjo, Senate President Lawan, APC NWC, liaising with the APC Governor’s, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, Gov. Umahi, Dr Onu and others that contested the coveted office with him for a likely victory at the general elections.”

Eze noted that the ruling party’s Presidential Candidate has a lot of challenges ahead of him ranging from his choice of a running-mate, his health challenge, ability to participate in the campaigns and strong opposition political parties viz the PDP and now Labour Party (LP) and the New Nigerian People’s Party (NNPP).

He, however, noted that if Tinubu can sustain the current efforts in reconciliation and closing ranks, his chances of succeeding in the general elections is imminent.

He said with the assurance of the Lion of Niger Delta and the General of Common Sense revolution, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi to work with Tinubu to ensure the victory of the APC, the ball lies on later’s court.

He said Tinubu must ensure that he talks to those around him particularly some of the funny guys he positioned in Rivers State to allow Amaechi free hand to move as the moving train he is, noting that only on such premise will committed progressives like his humble self can have the freewill to give out their best in the struggle ahead.

Dismissing the false claims from some quarters that former Vice President and Presidential Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar is a walkover, Eze urged fabricators of such deceit as merely dishonest or ignorant of the political relevance of the ex-VP.

“I have read some funny reports describing the PDP Presidential Candidate and former Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar as the wife of APC and the plot to retire him from politics by 2023, I laugh at their level of ignorance of whom Atiku is. I am happy that Tinubu, having known the relevance and working with Atiku as far back 2006, will not buy into such a false stand knowing very well that Atiku stands out today as one of the most deadliest political strategist who has prepared himself to give us the fight of our lives. Attempting to ignore or downplay the political prowess of the former VP for any reason will mean a signal of our defeat.

“We have no day to spare in doing the right thing by organizing ourselves not minding all that happened at the Eagle Square if we are serious of being relevant in the politics of Nigeria after 2023” Eze added.

The party Chief urged all and sundry within the APC fo listen and adhere to the clarion call of Amaechi for unity in the party in other for the party and her presidential candidate to emerge victorious.

Eze said he doffs his cap for both Atiku and Tinubu, having worked with both two on several occasions, hinting that facing each other from two great political movements will be a study and political fight that the world will not forget in a hurry.

Eze recalling his days with Atiku Abubakar when the then President Obasanjo did everything to frustrate Atiku out of PDP, said it was Tinubu that gave Atiku‘ steam the scour and handed over his political platform ‘for us to use to prosecute our 2007 Presidential election and after which Atiku sent me to Rivers State to assist in properly positioning the then Action Congress (AC) that later metamorphosed into Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN). We had reasons to visit and exchange ideas with Tinubu at his Lagos residence then.

’Recounting his relationships with the presidential candidates of the two major political parties, Eze said ‘my days with these two political giants dates back to over 24 years but as things today, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi is the one to direct my future political participations’.

Eze commended both Vice President Yemi Osinbanjo and the immediate Minister of Science of Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu for being men enough to speak out their minds during the Convention night. According to Dr. Ogbonnaya Ônu a refined gentleman with the gift of the garb who passionately reminded the crowd how he gave up his presidential ticket of ANPP in 1998 for Olu Falae to ensure that the south west emerged president then.

He said he expected the Southwest to reciprocate this time around but was disappointed at the injustice being meted out to the south east. A real crusader and hero of his people. His plaintive cry- “WHERE IS THE JUSTICE?” will forever reverberate in APC. He exposed the underbelly of injustice in the APC.

Eze sympathized with the leadership and members of the Rivers State APC over the death of their two officials,Hon. Samuel Vincent Onimitien and Barr. Loveday Motats Secretaries of Akuku-Toru and Degema LGAs of Rivers State. He described their deaths as truly very painful, sad shocking and unfortunate and prayed for the peaceful repose of their souls.

“I wish to state that their deaths can only make meaning if we unite to defeat the corrupt administration of PDP in Rivers State” the party Chief concluded.
