After Attack On Presidential Convoy, NAF Jets Raid Katsina Villages, Kill Scores Of Terrorists

Aggressive bombardments in Katsina State by the Nigerian military have neutralized scores of terrorists, a day after the killing of a senior police officer and an attack on a presidential convoy in the state, PRNigeria reports.

Bandit-terrorists had attacked an advance team of President Muhammadu Buhari travelling to Katsina State ahead of the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations.

The convoy of cars carrying the advance team of security guards, protocol and media officers of the State House was attacked in Dutsinma.

Similarly, on the same day, another group of terrorists killed ACP Aminu Umar, Area Commander of Police in Dutsinma, in an ambush while on a clearance operation in Zakka forest, of Safana Local Government Area of Katsina State.

PRNigeria gathered that the coordinated airstrikes by two Nigerian Air Force (NAF) aircraft, took place at Zakka, Umadan and Mahuta villages in the Safana local government area of the State.

Before their elimination, it was learnt that the terrorists had earlier overwhelmed the police outpost at Zakka Village after overrunning the police outstation at Dutsinma and shooting the Police Area Commander.

A similar success was also recorded elsewhere in the same Local Government Area as intelligence reports received on Tuesday evening had revealed that some terrorists with herds of cattle were observed dispersed in Abdulkareem Camp near Mahuta Village in Safana Local Government Area of Katsina State.

Abdulkareem, a well-known terrorist kingpin, has been a source of kidnapping and killings of innocent citizens residing near Mahuta Village and environs, PRNigeria gathered.

A military source told PRNIgeria that: “Consequently, a NAF aircraft was dispatched to the general area where it remained overhead the Area of Interest until the early hours of 6 July 2022 when the first human was sighted.

“After sighting about 18 terrorists amassing within the location, the aircraft engaged the targets.

“Feedback received has indicated that the strikes were precise and successful”.
