APC Tells Tinubu To Drop Faleke Over Composition Of PCC…Accuses Him Of High Handedness

The National Working committee of the All Progressives Congress has urged its presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to remove the secretary of the campaign council, Hon Faleke Abiodun James.

Newsnowonline gathered that the inauguration of the PCC and campaign programs were put on hold because of the issue of Faleke.

The National chairman of the party, Alhaji Adamu Abdullahi who allegedly read the riot act to the presidential candidate insisted that unless Faleke is removed and other necessary adjustments done to placate those who felt shortchanged by the composition, the inauguration of the PCC and campaign won’t commence.

This may have put Tinubu who returns from the United Kingdom two days ago under immense pressure and tight corner because of the investment of Faleke in his political ambition.

Faleke, according to the source was the first to begin the Tinubu for President Campaign even when others were not sure if he (Tinubu) will get the ticket or not.

The campaign office he opened for Tinubu In Maitama area of Abuja was so impressive that when the wife of Tinubu, Senator Oluremi during a visit to the office commended Faleke for his loyalty. It’s also on record that Faleke rebuffed Vice President Yemi Osinbajo when he invited the National Assembly caucus for a meeting before the presidential primaries in May.

The source said; “The NWC was particularly piqued that apart from a former governor who is considered as opposition within whose name appeared on the list, some other names on the list were considered as an affront on the party.”

Although, the party has reiterated that all is well within its fold, the source insisted that there may be implosion unless Tinubu ask Faleke to step down.

All the attempts to resolve the imbroglio through series of meetings with Adamu have not yielded the desired results as the Adamu led NWC said unless Faleke is removed to pave way for the party to take control of the campaign council it will not be part of it.

For now, it’s not clear if Tinubu will agree to remove Faleke to allow the PCC take off as the Adamu led NWC has said that the supremacy of the party must be enforced now to set a standard for the candidate if he eventually emerges as president in 2023.
