Ogun 2023:Ijebu North-East PDP Leaders Pass Vote Of Confidence On Otunba Jimi Lawal, Tope Ashiru, Others

We, the duly elected PDP delegates in Ijebu North-East Local Government and our party leaders, met today, November 4th, 2022, to look into the issues affecting our party presently.
(1) We diligently looked into the ongoing crisis in Ogun PDP with a reservation, especially the purported suspension and expulsion of our esteemed leaders: the Ogun State PDP legally elected gubernatorial candidate, Otunba Jimi Adebisi Lawal, our local government party Chairman, Aremo Tope Ashiru, two of our State Executives: Alhaja Adenike Asorona and Alhaja Oriyomi Akibu for standing for truth and complying with the judgement of a competent Court of Law.
(2) It is on record that we emerged as the elected delegates from the PDP ad-hoc ward Congresses, lawfully conducted on Saturday April 30th, 2022 as was monitored, observed and signed by INEC, Police, SSS and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC). But, we were denied exercising our voting rights.
(3)This act of using the unelected but hand-picked cronies to illegally perform our function led us to seek a redress in the law court. It is therefore not surprising that these irregular primaries were nullified by Hon. Justice O. O. Oguntoyinbo of the Federal High Court 1, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
(4)We noted with a shock that instead of repentance of their illegality, these lawless fellows keep harassing and intimidating those who stood by rules of law: they announced the suspension of the of the legally elected governorship candidate, Otunba Jimi Lawal for standing for the re-run primary in obedience to court judgement, the same day he was elected. A stance that is strange to PDP and Nigerian constitution. They continue to bind and loose with suspension and expulsion like toddlers playing with toys.
(5)Hence, we the PDP duly elected delegates and our esteemed leaders in Ijebu North-East Local Government hereby resolved and pass a vote of confidence on and reaffirm our unalloyed support for the candidature of Otunba Jimi Adebisi Lawal for governor. Just as we pass a vote of confidence on our party Chairman, Aremo Tope Ashiru and two of our State Executives: Alhaja Adenike Asorona and Alhaja Oriyomi Akibu.
