Commercial Banks Comply With Supreme Court Judgement, Pay Old N1000, N500 Notes

Majority of people in Kano and Abuja are ecstatic that the scarcity of naira notes which affected small businesses will soon be a thing of the past as deposit money banks have commenced the payment of the old N1000, N500 old notes.

Recall that the Supreme Court judgment, had extended the validity of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) currency redesign policy to December 31, 2023,

Daily Trust reports that some banks in Kano and Abuja have started paying out the old N1000, N500 notes.

The scarcity of naira notes still persist in Lagos as many customers besieged the commercial banks for transactions.
