Ikenga’s Purported Sack Is Disagreeably Illogical – CUPP

THE Coalition of United Political Parties, CUPP, has rejected the sack of its Spokesperson and member representing Ideato North and South Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives by the Imo State Election Petitions Tribunal on Sunday.

In a Press Release signed the Coalition’s National Co-Spokesperson, Comrade Mark Adebayo, CUPP stated among other things that”The purported sack of Honorable Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere from the House of Representatives by the Tribunal is a wicked miscarriage of justice, a deliberate somersaulting of law on its head by an evil collaboration of antidemocratic forces hellbent on imposing themselves on the good people of Imo State”.

“It is not far-fetched and quite obvious enough that this is the handiwork of Governor Hope Uzodinma who has never hidden his fear of the awesome popularity of Honorable Ikenga in Imo state and beyond. Nigerians have not forgotten quickly how these same forces of darkness made several, albeit unsuccessful, attempts on the life of Honorable Ikenga but for the provident hands of God that saved him from the snares of the wicked. His house was bombed, several cars destroyed and his supporters killed in cold blood just to silence and prevent him from running in the election. Despite and inspite of all their terrorist attacks, Honorable Ikenga went ahead to win the election in a landslide that befuddled his political enemies. His people love him and they openly demonstrated that during those dangerous days of evil attacks against his person.”

“CUPP unequivocally rejects the so-called judgment by the three-member tribunal led by Justice Anthony Akpovi because we consider it a brazen miscarriage of justice and an abuse of Court processes on an issue already contested up to the Supreme Court of the land and cleared. We know that our Supreme Court is the ultimate and final authority on all cases and no Tribunal has coordinate or superior powers to overturn the decisions of the Supreme Court”.

“We stand by Honorable Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere, as we have always done, and we are sure that as he goes on appeal, justice shall be served and he will retain his mandate freely given to him by his good people of Ideato North and South Federal Constituency”, the Press Release concluded
