Kebbi Fire: Gov Idris Sympathises With TCN

From Ayodele Ajoge, Birnin-KebbiFollowing the last weekend unexpected inferno at the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) at the Birnin-Kebbi substation, the Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Nasir Idris and the Emir of Gwandu, Alhaji Illiyasu Bashar have expressed sympathy with the Company’s Authorities over the incident.

The State Governor who cut short his visits to overseas Countries and rushed back home on Saturday evening called for the establishment of a commission to investigate the immediate and remote caused of the inferno, directing that any staff found wanting be brought to book.

Earlier in his Palace, the Emir of Gwandu Illiyasu Bashar, while receiving the Managing Director of TCN, Alhaji Sule Abdulazeez who paid him a courtesy visit called on the TCN boss to ensure that speedy steps is taken to ensure restoration of power supply to the three States of Kebbi, Sokoto and Zamfara who have been thrown into Darkness as a result of the ugly incident.

The Royal father reiterated that cases of fire incidents is quite enormous in recent time all over the world, pointing out that he was personally happy for the prompt response by the management of the Company, reiterating further that the TCN is doing it’s best, noting that light is very important in human endeavors, as he prayed for light and no to darkness.

In his speech, the TCN boss, Sule Abdulazeez told the Government and the Emir that TCN would do all that is possible to complete the process of restoring power back to all the affected States and the Bigger Republic within the next two weeks.

He told the Governor and the Emir that the Transformers razed down by fire are the 90MVA which is 330kv/132kv and 60MVA (132kv/33kv) valued at $4 million USD, respectively.
