Kebbi State Governor,  Comrade Dr.  Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, has described Appeal Court Judgement that ruled in his favour as a victory for democracy and people of the state.

Governor Idris flanked by the Speaker KBHA, SSG, Head of Service,  Commissioners, Special Advisers made the statement while addressing hundreds of party supporters who trooped to the Government House to congratulate him in Birnin Kebbi on Friday.

“Thank God for the victory before and now. We have witnessed another milestone as the court of appeal sitting in Abuja gave its judgement in favour of democracy.

” The Kebbi people have spoken from day one through their ballot papers to the APC and its candidates. This is due to their belief in God.”

Idris expressed confidence in the judiciary that it would deliver justice, saying it had manifested itself.

“The victory has now given me renewed vigour to continue with the developmental projects already started in the state. We will deliver dividends of democracy, which is a must for us to deliver,” he said.”

Gov Idris reiterated his invitation to the opposition across party lines to join the APC – led administration to give the best to the people of the state if they had the interest of the people at heart.

The governor thanked the APC ruling party, the legislature, the state executive council, Media, security agencies and the teeming followers  for their support, cooperation and loyalty to his administration.

The Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Yakubu Bala-Tafida, who spoke on behalf of the people of the state, expressed his happiness on the victory, saying the victory would reinforce the capability and ability of the governor to serve the people of the state.

Earlier in Abuja, the APC lead Counsel , Abdullahi Yahaya (SAN), described the verdict of the Appeal Court as good for our party.

” We are happy about  it. On the whole, the judgment was in our favour because the appeal of PDP was dismissed.

” The judgement of the Tribunal was affirmed, meaning that our clients were duly elected as governor and deputy governor.

“What informed the decision of the Appeal Court was that the appeal by PDP was lacking in merit.” Abdulahi Yahaya said.
