Breaking: 2 Rivers Commissioners Resign

Instead of thaw, the leadership tussle rocking Rivers State has continued unabated.

The Commissioner works, George-Kelly Alabo and his counterparts in social welfare, Nnenna Agoma have resigned from the Governor Siminalaye Fubara led administration.

Kelly Alabo in a resignation letter to Governor Fubara through the office of the Secretary to the State Government said the resignation is with immediate effect.

It will be recalled that the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice had earlier tendered his resignation.

The three commisioners are believed to be loyal to the former Governor, Nyesom Wike.

The crisis between the FCT minister and Fubara’s predecessor, Nyesom Wike and the Rivers state governor has polarised the state with 27 out of the 32 house of Assembly members defecting to the All Progressives Congress.

This has since drawn the ire of of People’s Democratic Party, a party on whose platform they won election.
