Gov Idris Returns To Kebbi After S’court Judgment …Invites Opposition To Join His Government

Supporters of the All Progressives Congress, (APC) from the 21 local government areas of Kebbi State converged on Birnin-Kebbi on Sunday to celebrate the Supreme Court verdict that affirmed Gov. Nasir Idris as the duly elected governor of Kebbi State in the 2023 Governorship Elections.

The rally which was organised by the APC in the state, started at the Sir Ahmadu Bello International Airport, Birnin Kebbi to welcome the governor back to the State amidst long procession of vehicles, motorcycles and the motorcade of the Governor from the airport passed through major roads in the state capital, Birnin Kebbi .

Addressing a mammoth crowd at Haliru Abdu Stadium, at the end of the rally, Governor Nasir Idris called on members of the opposition parties to join hands with his administration to develop the state now that politics is over.

The Governor stated that, If other politicians are in politics for the sake of the people, he is  inviting them to join hands with him for the development of Kebbi State as all processes of litigation from the election tribunal to appeal court and the Supreme Court are now over, by the will of God, “I am the dully elected Governor”. 

He also reaffirmed commitment to sustain the implementation of developmental projects already started by his administration designed to cover all the 21 Local Government Areas of the State. 

He solicited for the support, goodwill and prayers of the people for the APC led administration, assuring that he will deliver on all his campaign promises provide full security to the people of the State, pointing out that security is the basic foundation for development. 

The Comrade Governor expressed appreciation for the tremendous support he has continue to receive from the APC under the Chairmanship of Abubakar Kana Zuru, the House of Assembly, under the speakership of Rt. Hon. Muhammad Usman Ankwe, Commissioners and other Government functionaries. 

Among the dignitaries who welcome the Governor back home were the former Governor of the State, Alhaji Saidu Nasamu Dakingari, former Deputy Governor, Alhaji Bello Dantani, General Muhammad Magoro (retd), National organising secretary of APC, Alhaji Suleiman Muhammad Argungu, State APC Chairman,  Speaker Kebbi State House of Assembly, SSG, Alhaji Yakubu Bala Tafida, Head of Service, Alhaji Sufyan Bena, among others.
