Idris To Aides At Iftar: Governance Is The Responsibility Of All Citizens

 Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, says governance is the responsibility of all citizens which requires a collective commitment of stakeholders to sustain credible leadership in all ramifications.

 Comrade, Nasir Idris made this remark Friday night at the Government House, Birnin Kebbi, when he hosted his Special Advisers, labour leaders  and Local Government Sole Administrators to Ramadan Iftar, (breakfast). Dr. Idris expressed delight about the tremendous support to his administration by all the critical stakeholders in the state irrespective of political leanings. 

He expressed that some people might not be happy with the speed at which we are developing Kebbi State and may want to divert our attention.

“This is a popular APC administration voted into office by the people and I will never deviate from the positive course of developing the state embarked upon.

 “We have all laboured for this administration and we must therefore keep faith for its success with absolute loyalty.”

He acknowledged the invaluable support from all his aides present at the Ramadan breakfast and urged them to uphold the tempo.

 Dr. Idris said it was worthwhile appointing the Special Advisers whom he has never found wanting, adding that the LG Sole Administrators have also performed to expectations since their appointment within conducive enabling environment to operate. 

On labour, the Governor reaffirmed that his success could not be divorced from the support of his home base, the organised labour.

“It is  the labour platform that gave me the opportunity to be what I am today, so, I want to thank you and I have no cause, whatever, not to work with you, this is your government and Insha Allahu, it will satisfy your  yearnings and aspirations.” He assured.

Earlier, the Chairman of Kebbi State Special Advisers Forum, Alhaji Kabiru Sani Giant thanked the Governor for the confidence he reposed on them by appointing them into his administration, assuring him of their absolute loyalty and support. 

Alhaji Kabiru who is the Special Adviser on Power and Politics, expressed immense appreciation to Comrade, Dr. Nasir Idris for approving the payment of furniture allowance to all the Special Advisers. 

The Kebbi State Chairman of NLC, Comrade Murtala Usman lauded the governor for enhancing the welfare of workers in the state. 

He specifically thanked him on behalf of workers, for his recent approval of the payment of leave grants to all categories of workers, immediate payment of March Salary and the distribution of assorted grains as Ramadan palliatives to the people of the state. 

“The NLC from Abuja called me to confirm if what they read in news stories about the leave grants, Salary and grains to workers is true and I told them ,yes it is true,” he averred. 

In similar remarks, the Sole Administrator of Birnin Kebbi Local Government, Alhaji Dahiru Nayaya Ambursa who spoke on behalf of other Sole Administrators, commended Governor Nasir Idris for finding them worthy of appointment to lead their people.
